Blepharoplasty (Eye Rescue)
This surgery corrects the fallen eyelids giving you a younger, relaxed, bright-looking and improved appearance, since you look several years younger. In addition, in most cases these results are long-lasting.
Need to know: This surgery removes the fat and excises the sagging skin and muscle of upper and lower eyelids, in order to reduce aging signs, a tired look...
It can be performed with local anesthesia related or not to sedation. When a facial lift is also performed, we may use general anesthesia, but it depends on the doctor.
This surgery can be performed on the upper or lower eyelids. Here we will talk about SMOOTH EYE RESCUE, (surgery on the upper or lower eyelid). It will depend on the needs of the patient.
The surgery normally takes between one and three hours, and the incisions are almost imperceptible. Concerning upper eyelids, these incisions are performed within the natural creases of the upper eyelid and through them we are able to separate skin from fat and muscles, removing the excess. In some occasions, parts of skin are also removed.
Concerning lower eyelids, the incision is normally performed inside the eyelid, so that the excess of fat is removed, leaving no visible scar.
It must be taken into account that it is a very traumatic surgery because, after leaving hospital (it is usually an outpatient admission process), the patient must apply cold on the affected area in order to avoid haematoma and swelling on the operated area. It causes hypersensitivity to light, temporal changes in keenness of sight and difficulties when closing our eyes, but all these effects will fade in 2 or 3 days. You will be able to resume normal life immediately.
Make up: The results of this surgery correct loosing or sagging eyelids, giving you a much younger relaxed look and an improved appearance, since you look several years younger. In addition, in most cases these results are long-lasting.
Profile: In general, this surgery is addressed to patients who are over 35 years old, who start feeling an aged, sadder look... Patients are younger when they have a genetic tendency to have bags under the eyes.
Frecuently Asked Questions about "Blepharoplasty (Eye Rescue)"- Will many bruises appear after the surgery?

- How long must I wait to start working again?
- You would need 2 or 3 days to rest, and then you can resume normal life; always taking into account the bruises you will have.
- What can I do to avoid the appearance of haematoma and swelling?
- When you leave hospital, your surgeon will give you some instructions ointments, eyedrops, etc. but it is important you do not stop applying cold on the eyes-- very cold tissues which activate blood circulation.
