Does this treatment include Vistabel?
Yes, it does. In this way we eliminate frown lines.
Which materials are going to be used?
Hyaluronic Acid, hydroxyapatite (Radiesse),and poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra). Each one is recommended for one specific area which your doctor will explain you in detail. In addition, we will use DRT to provoke cellular biostimulation and finally, Vistabel.
How long will the effects last?
It will mainly depend on the patient, so we cannot assure concrete results or stating exact figures (e.g. “it will last 5 years”). We must always inform that hyaluronic acid will be the first element to be absorbed, then Radiesse and finally Sculptra. The effect of botox is quite brief (3-6 months) the first time it is applied. The effect of DRT can last until a year. So, in general, the results may be around two years, but these are approximate figures, and it will mainly depend on the patient’s habits. It is important to know that, in order to increase the stimulation of cells, we have included two sessions of intense pulse light.
Is it painful? Is anesthesia necessary?
Concerning lips, it is advisable to undergo an anesthesia with injection (that is, similar to the one dentists perform). Concerning facial resurfacing, it does not have to be necessary. However, if the patient does not bear pain, we could apply an anesthesic cream in the area to be treated 20 or 45 minutes before the first session.
Bruises, swelling, little lumps?
Every infiltration can provoke the appearance of bruises, reddish skin and swelling in the area which has been injected. Depending on the kind of skin, the disappearance of these effects will be more or less quick, but it usually takes between 48 and 72 hours. If the patient applies ice on the affected area after the injections, we will reduce the time non-desired effects will remain. Concerning little lumps, it is probable that little lumps could be noticed. They will disappear in two-three weeks if the patient gives herself massages at home. Concerning the two sessions of IPL, it is necessary patients protect themselves from sun radiation and pay special attention to the medication they are taken.
Can patients use make-up?
Without any problem, there is no contradiction to do it.
Must patients take any medication before the injection?
It is important not to take any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (aspirin, ibuprofen…). If the patient informs us that she has a tendency to show bruises or swelling, a previous treatment with arnica could be recommended. But it is the doctor who must decide it. The previous tendency to take antibiotics has now few supporters, because of the high safety of the products with which we work.
Post-treatment advices:
It is advisable to massage the area with energy twice a day, and a good moisturizing is undoubtfully essential—Vaseline for lips and a long-lasting moisturizing for facial infiltrations.
What about sun exposure?
Following the normal recommendations tos un exposure, there is no problem. It consists of nine sessions which the surgeon will establish with intervals of two or three weeks between them, depending on the products to be injected. In addition, there would be an initial session in which the complete medical history will be done.
